• The director Sudipto Sen was asked about the plot of this film. He replied that this film has been made from three real incidents.
  In the year 2010, the former chief minister of Kerala brought out news of 2500 women being forcefully converted to Muslim in the year 2006. But this is where the half-truth has played a role. Most of us only read the headings and don’t go deep into the article. The inside of the article shows that the women were not being forced. The article reveals that the state will not allow such an incident to happen and also says that this is not for insulting Islam.
• The second incident was about another former chief minister VS Achuthanandan. In a press conference of his, the subtitles have been published wrongly and the minister strongly criticised PFIF for marriage of the Hindu and Christian men to Muslim women. No ISIS topic was mentioned. After 14 years of this statement, Kerala remains a secular state as it was 13 years ago.
• Another article from 2018, where the story of 4 women who went to Afghanistan with their husbands to join the Islamic State of Khorasan Province. Their husbands were killed in Afghanistan. In the list of NIA’s 2016, most wanted Indians in the Islamic State four of the women have enlisted on the list. Another two women were there whose husbands were cousins. Among 6 women three were Muslim, two of them have converted from Christian to Muslim and one of them has converted from Hindu to Muslim. Was the Hindu women being forced to be loved by the Jihad love? It has been known that the husband of this woman was Christian and was converted to Muslim thereafter. They were being brainwashed. They were not allowed to enter the country by the Indian Government.
• An interview with one of the women shows how well she was brainwashed but in the film, this woman’s character has been shown constantly trying to evoke sympathy. From the NIA’s report, it has been seen that the list of men and women was closely interconnected as they were all from the same district Kasargod of Kerala. In a 2016 article, it was said that not only a single member but the whole family have joined ISIS. The article shows that most of those who have joined ISIS are from Maharashtra, Telangana and Karnataka. These all incidents clearly suggest that people are being brainwashed to join ISIS. Home affair Minister, G Krishnan in the year 2019 has said that ISIS uses the dark web to radicalise and convert people into terrorists.
• Vladimir Voronkov, under-secretary-general of the United Nations Office of Counter Terrorism, has said that about 40000 terrorist fighters from 110 countries went to Iraq and Syria to join the conflict. Another fact is known that 41000 people from 80 different countries are affiliated with ISIS. Among this number 79% are men.
• The Bureau of Counter Terrorism published news that in 2020 NIA has investigated 34 cases and from them 160 are found to be from India.
• In Research Foundation published a paper where it has been told that in between the years 2014-2018 the pro-ISIS cases in India was 200. These estimated 200 people are only those who join ISIS but also there are people who spread the propaganda of ISIS. So this number is from all over India. 40 of them from Kerala went to join ISIS and spread the propaganda of ISIS. There were 66 Indian-origin fighters in ISIS in the year 2020. Among this total number 13 were women, only 6 from Kerala. Also, 3 of them are converted Muslim and 3 were Muslim beforehand.

So it has been told that 32000 women are being forcefully trapped and being converted into Muslims is a big lie.

In The Kerala Story Video Dhruv Rathee picks the conspiracy theory as the reason behind this big lie

Now everyone will ask what is the reason for showing this huge number in the film. This is because if it was shown that only 3 women then the concept would have failed. In the film, it has been shown that the hidden conspiracy forced the women to convert to Islam. If the number was shown less then it would have been considered as individual cases, not a conspiracy.
When the director was asked why this huge number had been used, he ran away from the questions and said in some of the newspapers that it was an arbitrary number. The director also replaced 32000 with 3 in the introduction part of the film when this incident reached the court.

• The first reason can be a superb response from an Indian agency. Some of you may know about Operation Pigeon where 350 Malayali youth were identified and a de-radicalisation program was held to prevent them from joining ISIS.
